It's hard to believe it's a new year already. I have been remiss about posting on the blog the past couple months. The flurry of activity in November and December had me putting a lot on the back burner. But, it's a new year, full of possibilities! I've noticed a theme of having a word for the year. I haven't done that before, but thought this year could be "He is faithful". Twenty-nineteen was a tumultuous year for me, navigating as caregiving became more complex and struggling with my own health issues. But through it all, the Lord has proved faithful. I am in the midst of a Bible study on the life of Joseph, someone who also saw his fair share of fiery trials. He kept following and obeying God, even when his circumstances looked hopeless. He never lost hope in the Everlasting God, who works all things for our good and His glory. The Lord brought Joseph out unto victory, and he was able to handle the success God gave him because of what he learned in his time of suffering. Sufferings prove our faith genuine. Even in the midst of your pain God will prosper you, just as He did Joseph. God's commands are to protect us and cause us to prosper, not to harm us or be unfair. So, as I learned throughout 2019, God is good and even if we question our circumstances, we can never question God's goodness. He knows the future, and we trust Him each day, walking with Him day by day.
